LASER HAIR REMOVAL

procedures.jpg

Laser hair removal is a procedure that can effectively remove unwanted hair in areas such as the upper lip, the chin, cheeks, on the back, legs, fingers, feet, toes, or other areas.

During the laser hair removal procedure, the light emitted by the laser passes through the skin and gets absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles. The laser pulses long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling several follicles at a time. This results in eliminating or significantly hindering any hair growth in the treated area. Because lasers are most effective at destroying hairs that are in the active stage of growth, a series of 6 to 8 treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart, typically produces the best long-term results.

In order to determine the most effective strategy for permanent hair reduction for each individual patient, a consultation with a member of our expert medical staff is scheduled to consider each patient's unique factors, including age, gender, genetic make-up, skin and hair color, overall health, and medications.
