What is Blue Light Laser Therapy?
Blue Light Laser Therapy is a gently effective approach for treating mild to moderate inflammatory acne that involves the use of a concentrated beam of non-UV blue light to target acne-causing bacteria in the skin. When the blue light laser penetrates the skin, it surrounds and kills bacteria in the sebaceous glands without harming the surrounding tissue.

How is the Blue Light Laser applied?
A light-sensitive medication may be applied to your skin prior to the laser treatment. Once the skin is prepared, it is exposed to the laser for a short period.

What improvements can you expect to see after a Blue Light Laser treatment?
By eliminating acne-causing bacteria in the skin, Blue Light Laser treatments help to clear acne eruptions, blemishes, clogged pores and reduce future breakouts. Treated skin will have a healthier, smoother appearance. For some patients, multiple treatment sessions may be required for the best results.

Is the Blue Light Laser treatment a healthy choice for you?
Your practitioner will discuss the specific characteristics that make you a healthy candidate for using Blue Light Laser therapy, but it is considered to be safe for most patients. You should discuss your medical history thoroughly with your practitioner before undertaking this kind of treatment.

Are there side effects after a Blue Light Laser treatment?
Blue Light Laser Therapy is a painless procedure. Some temporary mild reddening or drying of the skin may occur following treatment which resolve quickly.
